Work In Action

Work In Action, originally uploaded by mark.mortensen.

A coworker bought three of my fine art prints and framed them for his office. Frames are through American Frame and the prints I made on my Canon PIXMA 9500 with premium matt paper. Image on the left are the flatirons in Boulder CO.  Middle image is a new pine tree growth in South Dakota.  Image on the right is a fox cub from last spring in my neighborhood.

Yeah me! I’m selling some of my work.

Grace and Kyle

Grace and Kyle, originally uploaded by mark.mortensen.

Grace and Kyle are good friends. I took both Grace and Kyle’s senior portraits this year. Kyle brought along Grace for his modeling test shots and the traffic cone has a special meaning between the two of them.

Technical Ramblings: Two bare AlienBee B800s with home made barn doors fired at the white seamless background. Background is about 8ft behind Grace and Kyle. One AlienBee B800 in a large softbox camera left. Lightroom adjustments included; sharpening and some touchup on the faces. The camera profile is set to Faithful. Photoshop post work with Totally Rad Actions; Oh Snap! (no defog layer), Ying/Yang to lightening the white paper, Pro Retouch on the faces.

Kyle talking on the phone. Actually my iPhone. I love and hate that device.

Technical Ramblings: Two AlienBee B800s bare fired at the white seamless background. The third AlienBee B800 is in a large softbox camera left. Sharpened and chromatic aberration adjustments in Lightroom. Photoshop CS3 and Totally Rad Actions: Oh Snap! (no defog layer), Ying/Yang (lots of whitening on the white seamless around Kyle’s feet and the stool).
